Transport Accounting Dimension

Overview

The Transport Accounting Dimension Form is part of the VSD Fleet Management System and is used to manage accounting dimensions in relation to transportation assignments. This form allows you to link specific fields between different document types (DocTypes) to track accounting dimensions accurately. The form helps manage how data flows from source DocTypes to target DocTypes, enabling the user to automate or streamline accounting processes.

Accessing the Form

Log in to the VSD Fleet Management System.

Navigate to the Transport Accounting Dimension section under the VSD Fleet MS module.

Click on New to create a new accounting dimension mapping or select an existing mapping to edit.

Form Layout

The Transport Accounting Dimension Form is divided into columns and sections to help organize the data mapping between source and target DocTypes.

Fields Overview

Below is a detailed description of the fields in the form:

1. Dimension Name (Required)

Description: Select the accounting dimension for which you are creating this mapping. The options come from the Accounting Dimension DocType. Example: "Cost Center", "Project Code"

2. Source DocType (Required)

Description: Choose the source DocType from which the dimension information will be fetched. Example: "Sales Invoice", "Transportation Assignment"

3. Source Type

Description: Choose the type of source you are mapping from the source DocType.

Options:

  • Field

  • Value

  • Child

Example: "Field"

  • Behavior:

  • Field: Maps from a field in the source DocType.

  • Value: Maps a specific value.

  • Child: Maps from a child table field within the source DocType.

4. Source Field Name

Description: Enter the name of the field in the source DocType from which the dimension data will be fetched. This is mandatory if the source type is either "Field" or "Child." Example: "cost_center"

5. Child Field Name

Description: Enter the child field name if the source type is set to "Child". This represents the specific field in a child table within the source DocType. Example: "cost_center_code"

6. Value

Description: If the source type is "Value," input the specific value that will be mapped as the dimension. Example: "Marketing"

7. Target DocType (Required)

Description: Select the target DocType where the dimension will be mapped to. Example: "Journal Entry"

8. Target Type

Description: Choose the type of target to which the dimension will be applied.

Options:

  • Main

  • Child

Example: "Main"

9. Target Field Name

Description: Enter the target field name where the dimension will be set. This is required if the target type is "Main" or if the target type is "Child." Example: "cost_center"

10. Target Child Field Name

Description: Enter the child field name in the target DocType if the target type is "Child". This represents the specific field in the target DocType's child table. Example: "cost_center_code"
